1. I’m a bundle of nerves. Quite out of the blue my husband received a call about a potential job. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this would be his dream job. His phone interview went very well but the competition is as tough as nails. If you are of the praying persuasion, please say a prayer for us!
2. I was ecstatic when I stepped on the scale this morning. I had been boycotting my merciless scale for a good while now. I guess it worked because I have now lost 35 pounds since baby girl’s birth.
3. I cannot believe Thanksgiving is next Thursday. I have not done the first thing to prepare. I suspect Martha would say that this is *not* a good thing. I guess we know what I’ll be doing while Mr. B works this weekend.
4. I thought my husband and I had produced a respectable number of offspring (four) in our seven years of marriage. Ha! My husband just met a guy who (with more than a little help from his heroic wife) has created six lovely children in their same seven years of marriage. No multiples. I did not know that was possible. They have my everlasting respect and admiration.
5. Spoiler Alert! The Biggest Loser this week was solid gold. I spent the entire episode plotting ways to make Vicki suffer. Cruel and unusual punishments formed in my ruthless mind. But let me tell you though, when Amy defected, all my suffering suddenly became worthwhile.
6. Speaking of television…Girls! Shame on you! How did I not know about Tim Gunn’s show? Why did none of you enlighten me? I love this show! I may have to hook up our cable just for this man. Until then, a certain dear friend of mine should be expecting me on her doorstep around 9am Friday mornings.
7. I’m all mixed up in my head (this is nothing new). I know it’s Friday but Mr. Beguiles had Wednesday and Thursday off from work and, sadly, will be working all weekend. I just can’t wrap my head around it. I let the kids take the last two days off from home-schooling so that they could spend it with their Dad so I guess we’ll just pretend tomorrow is a weekday. Sunday will remain a day of rest.
Stroll on over to Conversion Diary to check out more of these fun Quick Takes entries. Thank you, Jen! You’re the hostess with the mostest!

Said a little prayer for you and your husband about the job.
And no, I did not know that Tim Gunn had a show on in the morning. I do watch Tim Gunn's Guide to Style.
Congratulations on the weight loss!
I'm praying for you, Betty B! And your hubby! Sounds like you have a lot going on right now! Awesome job on the 35lb's! It's always great to hear about your life!
P.S. Don't you love Tim Gunn!? I love it when he says, "Hmm.." it cracks me up! His "Guide to Style" is a great show! Glad you found it!
Hmmm. I think I might be thinking of his Guide to Style. My friend records it on her DVR and I was just lucky enough to show up over there this morning while she was watching it.
These were such a fun read! Thanks for participating!
I almost did one of my quick takes on The Biggest Loser too! I can't stand Vicky! She is really dreadful. Sadly, I just don't see any way they can get rid of her now until the final four, which is awful since she's not the strongest player or losing very consistently or anything. She's just manipulative and everyone is scared of her. Also, I can't believe the things she says about her kids like "I didn't think a video of my kids was worth competing for" the other week or "I'm not going to lie and say that I want to get home to my kids" this week! Wow.
OK, I'm done ranting about TBL now.
I video tape it and then watch it while I workout the next morning. It's amazingly motivational for a workout!
Oh saying a prayer about the job. I do hope it comes through.
And congrats on the weight loss. I've been chipping away at those post-baby pounds and have lost about 35 too. My goal is to lose another 10-15 pounds. That will get me within 10 pounds of what I weighed when I was married.
Me too on Thanksgiving. Fortunately for us my sister-in-law is hosting the whole family again. Of course, that means no leftover turkey, my favorite part. (Maybe I'll cook a mini-Thanksgiving just for us the next weekend.) But we are doing a house-warming get together next Sunday and I haven't done a thing to prepare for that.
I enjoyed your 7 Quick Takes! I saw that over at Conversion Diary as well. I might have to try it sometime in the future!
Friends of ours have their fifth child on the way in their sixth year of marriage–no multiples either. Wow!
I'll say prayers for your husband's job. I hope it works out for you!
