Dressing Up for Date Night

My goodness, has it ever been a tough week! On top of all the election drama my entire family was hit by the plague this week. We all had terrible coughs, high fevers, runny noses and splitting headaches. Nobody slept much. Plus, we had visitors in town for half of the week. It was a lot. To say that I am ready to spend some quality alone time with Mr. Beguiles this weekend would be an understatement of gargantuan proportions. I am counting down the minutes until he returns home from work. In the meantime though, I am definitely making the most of those minutes! I’ve been having a ball planning my outfit, hair and make-up for our Date Night while the little ones nap. Since I was sick on Halloween I never did get the dressing up part of it completely out of my system (yes, I am one of those strange adults who still likes to dress up). That may be why I’m going all out 1950′s tonight!

I bought my dress a few years back but this Kiska dress from Pinup Girl Clothing is very similar.

I think I’ll keep my jewelry simple. Probably just a pair of pearl earringsin addition to my beautiful wedding ring, of course.

These shoes from Rack Room Shoes are my absolute favorites right now. Can you believe what a steal they are? And not only are they adorable, they are also so comfortable!

I found this Hairdo How-To video on YouTube. I am going to *attempt* to style my hair like this. (For those who may have seen my profile picture, my hair has grown out a lot since it was taken.)

I also found this YouTube video on how to do Pinup Girl make-up. It doesn’t look too challenging. I’m all about being campy tonight.

As for my underthings, well, of course a lady would never tell, but (shhhh) I will give you a clue! They came care of What Katie Did!

I hope you all have lovely Date Night’s this week. I’d love to hear all about your plans if you have a minute to share! What are you wearing? Are you going anywhere special? I’m always looking for inspiration! Have a wonderful weekend, girls!

It couldn't have been as much fun as it was for me to see the things inside of your purse! ;)

Thanks for the link to the Pin Up Girl retro clothing store. I think I just found a dress (vintage inspired sailor dress) for a wedding I'm attending in San Jose in January. Not sure I can create the retro hairstyle and makeup without looking silly, but I might give it a shot and practice glaming it up in a more subtle way.
