More Modest Vintage

I’ve often heard women comment that it can be difficult to find attractive modest clothing these days. I can’t say that I’ve found that to be true. In fact, I think we’re actually very blessed to be living in a period of time during which modesty is thriving. Does it surprise you to hear me say that?

I believe the cultural tide is turning as more women recognize the value and importance of modesty. It wouldn’t surprise me if companies are starting to notice that this trend and are trying to cash in on it. Or perhaps young women got so fed up with the lack of selection from major designers that they up and decided to create modest clothing companies of their own (thanks, girls!). I imagine it’s probably a combination of the two.

Whatever the explanation, like I said, I have never had a problem finding cute, modest wear. Quite the opposite, in fact. I find there are just too many adorable clothes to choose from! That’s a problem I can live with, though, and I promise to try and suffer through it gracefully.

And suffer I will because just today I stumbled upon ModCloth, a clothing company that showcases amazing vintage clothes. (Not all of their pieces are modest but there is a very nice selection of classy clothes that meet or exceed my requirements.) My only problem now is that the beginning of the year always comes with a strict budget as our bank account recovers from the holidays so I must be content with virtual window shopping for the time being. Believe you me, this site is being bookmarked, though. Mr. Beguiles had better not have any plans for that tax refund of ours (wink-wink)!
