1. Hey, girlies! So nice to “see” you all again! For a variety of reasons this season of life has been a particularly busy one for me but I do feel some blogging coming on soon! ;)
2. Maybe even today! Well, over at Faith and Family LIVE!, anyway. The sweet gals over there have invited me to do a Fashion Friday feature! I’m so excited!!! I’d love if you stopped by to say hello!
3. I’m thinking of starting a regular Date Night series here on Betty Beguiles where we can all share details of our Date Nights. I’m always looking for inspiration! Would anyone be up for that? We could either do it in the combox and you could send me any details and/or pics you might like to share for me to post here, or we could utilize Mr. Linky…let me know if you’re up for that. :)
4. Speaking of Date Night, your movie recommendations are knocking my socks off! We watched How to Kill Your Neighbor’s Dog last night and LOVED it (thanks, Kate)!
5. Does anyone know how to get red wine out of carpet? I have a friend in need! Have any of you tried any of these products with success?
6. Okay, so it may be warm and humid (boooooo!) outside but colorful leaves are falling and being swept up by frisky gusts of wind, my AC is blessedly efficient, I am baking Pecan Pie and I have a rockin’ imagination so it’s all good!
7. I hope you all have a very happy Halloween or All Saint’s Day or Fall Festival or even just a lovely, simple autumn weekend. However you are spending the next couple of days, I hope they are full of laughter and merriment!
Stroll on over to Conversion Diary to check out more of these fun Quick Takes entries. Thank you, Jen! You’re the hostess with the mostest!

I feel like we spill red wine all the time.
I blot it up with my trusty ShamWOW and then scrub it clean with OxyClean.
Yeah for infomercial products!
I haven't tried it specifically on red wine stains; but my family swears by advanage (note no "t"). A door to door salesman introduced my artist brother to it. It got some paint out of the carpet that nothing else could touch.
I figure if it can do that it can probably deal with red wine too.
Thanks, girls! I'll pass these tips along! :)
For wine on carpets, we recommend http://www.wineaway.com/ . And, trust me, this is a WEIGHTY recommendation coming from us.
Indeed it is, Jen. ;)
Red Wine on expensive white carpet just happend on Thursday night. The answer…SALT someone said…but we ended up using OXY CLEAN and that did the trick.
Date Night:I just forwarded your date night link to a friend yesterday. I would LOVE if we could all share and inspire great date nights. I really do think it takes a good deal of planning and thinking to make a successful date night happen.
Last night our "Date Night" babysitter fell through. We couldn't find anyone at the last minute. So I ordered some Greek food for takeout and was looking for the movie "My Life In Ruins" from the Redbox. They didn't have it or anything else that looked good/acceptable, except that they had a copy of Pink Panther 2.
Let me preface here that my DH and I have been having a rough time. He is working 2 jobs (1 full time and 1 part time teaching) and taking a graduate course. I NEVER get evenings with him anymore except on our scheduled date night. Then it's a late exit from the house (8pm usually) and home by 10pm to let the babysitter go home, and it feels rushed and not fun sometimes.
Well last night we sat and ate, and watched that movie and we almost pe*'d our pants we laughed so hard. It was such an incredibly funny movie and it reminded me that I think that Steve Martin is probably one of the best physical comedians ever. It was clean, the cast was "all-star" including Lily Tomlin who I just love too. Oh my goodness, you have to watch this movie if you haven't.
This morning, my husband and I were still glowing with the great time we had despite not getting to sleep until after midnight and having to be up at 6:15am to get our oldest ready for his early soccer game this morning and my DH having to get ready to teach his Sat class (all day).
It was simply the best night we have had in a very LONG time. :)
I would love date night chatter! My preferance would be in the com box because I don't blog about dates typically. Good idea!
I used to do wine-tasting parties. The Wine Away really does work.
I would participate in a date night discussion, at least some of the time.
I've been successful with white vinegar to get grape juice out of white/cream carpet – might work for wine too.
Just don't scrub furiously back and forth when it looks like it's not coming out — I thought I was failing … but when it was dry the next morning, it was spotless accept for the frayed fibers from my frantic scrubbing! Pour vinegar — blot – pour vinegar – blot, dab, blot some more.
