Vintage-Inspired Swimsuits!

It's hard to believe but it's that time of year again, gals. Swimsuit season is upon us...or just about, depending on where you call home.

Now it's pretty much a given that unless you steer clear of the pool this summer, you are going to be showing a bit more skin than usual. That's okay. While we should always be striving for modesty, it is perfectly acceptable to wear clothing appropriate for the activity even if it means being slightly more exposed.

I know there is swimwear out there that resembles a dress but quite frankly, if I have to wear a dress in the pool I'm just going to stay home. That having been said, I don't believe we should be wearing Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikinis either. Lucky for us, there are plenty of adorable vintage-inspired swimsuits that I think strike a perfect balance between usability and modesty. Here are three of my favorite sources for retro bathing suits...

reVamp

I bought my bathing suit at Revamp (see here for a review I posted last year). I'll warn you in advance, these suits will stretch your budget but the quality is excellent! One thing I love about reVamp is that they will custom-make your swimsuit if you like (they also have standard sizes available). It takes a bit more time but it's well worth it, in my humble opinion.

MyBabyJo

I'm dying to get one of their Classic Sheath swimsuits. They look so comfortable and are so classically vintage. I can't stand it!

Their one-pieces are some of the most feminine and flattering I've found. I just love the ruffle on the bottom of this suit!

Happy sunning, girls!
