I was chatting with some friends over on Twitter about clothing dilemmas and it occurred to me that I hadn’t yet shared my #1 fashion fix with you all! How could this be?
How could I not have mentioned Hollywood Fashion Tape before now? Shame on me. Because oh my word, girls. This stuff is awesome. Seriously. I consider it a must-have for every woman.
Here are a few of the cool things it can do:
- Hide bra straps.
- Secure revealing necklines.
- (Temporarily) fix hems.
- And close button-up blouse gaps!
Plus, it’s super inexpensive (I bought mine more than a year ago and I still have a ton left), hypo-allergenic, and leaves no residue on clothing. Just remove backing, press firmly to clean skin or fabric, remove remaining backing, apply item to be secured, and voilà! That’s all there is to it!
I really can’t adequately explain what a lifesaver this stuff is.
Love!

Hope it is ok for a guy to comment. As a non-tailor I didnt know about this tape. Looks like just the thing to fix a cuff on slacks when the thread breaks. I’ll be getting some for work and home fixes. Thanks!
Of course you can comment! And I think that’s a fantastic idea! I’ll have to tell my husband about it. :)

I love fashion tape. I have the same tin in my purse. There is one button down shirt that I keep in my closet because I have fashion tape and I can close the hug gaps! Amazing stuff!
I probably couldn’t wear button-up shirts without it! That’s definitely what I use it for most. Love, love, love it! :)

That’s so great to hear that it lasts! I had never bought it because I just assumed I would get addicted to it and it would be an expensive habit. I’ll have to give it a try now.
Another cheap fix that is often looked over is Fels Naphta, the stain remover. It’s about a $1.09 and is the most gentle stain removers on the block: my sister said it’s Hanna Andersson recommends it for removing stains in their clothing. It’s really effective too, so long as you treat the stain and then get it right in the wash! (Easier some days than others, right?)
Ooooh, I’ll have to try that! Thanks for the tip, Laura!

I have the same tin in my purse too! I LOVE this stuff and wish I’d known about it back in my pregnant days when I was always struggling to keep crossover v-necks in place!
And another usage hint: my husband absolutely hates to have flyaway collars on his button-down shirts when he’s not wearing a tie. (He calls it the Elvis look, which is not what he’s going for!) But finding shirts with those little buttons to hold the collar down is tough. But fashion tape does the trick!

We’re going to have to design some super manly tins for our husbands to carry their fashion tape in! ;)

Keeping mine in a Cabellas gift card tin. Lol
Funky. Glad you people know about this good stuff; thanks for sharing! I discovered IT Stays last year (roll-on adhesive), and after 6 pregnancies wearing compression hose and tugging on them constantly, it was A-mazing this last time around. Stayed like a dream, and came off easily. I can see that this tape would work in applications where you just wouldn’t use roll-on adhesive, for sure!
